@PSaintAmans @DanNeidle .@PSaintAmans #FATCA litigation (whether in US, Canada or UK) has nothing to do with transparency. It's about the US imposing @CitizenshipTax on non-US source income of individuals with @TaxResidency outside USA. If the US were concerned with transparency it would join the CRS.

If the US (or any other) government has a concern about tax evasion they should get a court order, as with any other crime; you don't force everyone to give up all their info about everything because: criminals!
@IRS_MEDIC The FEIE is not a tax free opportunity, it's limited relief from double taxation by a nation you don't even live in. Ditto tax credits.
@IRS_MEDIC The numbers are meaningless from one quarter to another. The IRS doxes people several months to even years after they renounce. 2023 was one of the lowest reported numbers. This just reflects the IRS putting more resources into their duty of doxing people.
@AbroadRebecca These people should be proud to be on this list. History will prove them to be those who chose freedom over tyranny. The USA should be absolutely ashamed of what it is doing to it's diaspora.

@SecYellen This is exciting! I would greatly appreciate if you include #AmericansAbroad in 2025's version of Direct File. Too many of us pay to file to prove the owe $0 US tax and a way to file for free would be a good step in the right direction to help alleviate this heavy burden
