#BrumCharityHour We are currently working with @Crisis_Bham to support homeless people improving their English skills to gain qualifications, which can help them gain employment & exit homelessness. We do this through 1-to-1 sessions using @CommunicateProj, delivered by our tutor

New research shows that families on housing benefit are being forced into homelessness as they cannot afford most rental properties. Housing benefit has been frozen since 2016 but 73% of the British public agree that it should #CoverTheCost of rents. crisis.org.uk/about-us/media…

Did you know that a homeless person is expected to need temporary accomodation for only about 6 weeks? However because housing benefit doesn't #CoverTheCost of rents in many areas, some of them can be stuck in hostels or B&Bs for as long as 9 years endhomelessnessnow.org.uk #GE19
