Fun fact: the phrase "soup to nuts" comes from the full life cycle, if you will of eating soup, which is very watery, havnig the soup processed by your body, and then peeing it out from your nuts. Sorry to be gross, but that's how the human body works.

True fact: there were going to be 51 states but the little known state "Rompusvania" backed out at the last minute in 1970. But they could always still join if they wanted to.

Football was originally played just with feet. Quarterbacks passed balls with their feet. It was really hard to play so they changed to passing with their hands, but they didn't change the name, to honor the game's heritage. That's why it's still called "football."

The word "life" used to be spelled with two "f"s - "liffe." But nobody could pronounce it right. So they changed it to "life." That's what linguistics are for.

For Thanksgiving, a fun fact about turkeys. They belong to the same animal class Aves, which means "birds" in Greek. The Greeks also celebrated a kind of Thanksgiving where they ate thrkeys and had family gatherings, a festival called Anthesteria. Notice both words start with "A"

True fact: sugar is actually not unhealthy. Lots of sugars naturally occur in the body. The problem is that intake of sugar upsets the equilibrium, and excess sugar needs to be expelled.

The country with the biggest landmass is Canada, if you include all the tiny islands and the long coastline. Coastline goes a long way in determining square footage.
