It sounds lame, but "GIS for Dummies" has some very useful information. Decent reference and supplement for beginning GIS coursework.

Skill focus for 2011 will be: ArcGIS, C#, Python, JavaScript, PHP and mySQL. Should create a nice GIS tech package.

Last GTECH731 class tonight at Hunter. Thanks to Sean and Tony for a semester where I learned a lot.

I am now coming to terms with Arc Objects. Very extensive and not very intuitive - need a lot of development hours with it.

Location, web services and data visualization. We can make this elegant and provide a lot of information.

Playing around with Geotools.

Creating a geometry class in C#: point, line, linestring and polygon. New to programming so this is taking longer than it should.

Thinking about how to incorporate GIS information into a trading platform. Commodities trading? Risk management?
