EU proposes undoing harm Brexit has done to young people on both sides of Channel. No surprise this Government isn't interested, but what a miserable response from Labour. Neither party pro growth or the interests of our young people #depressing bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
@GavinBarwell We had a referendum for Brexit to end free movement, did it slip your mind?
@GavinBarwell You think Labour is going to engage with this from the position of opposition. No Labour Government would have taken our country out of the EU. What is miserable is a defeated Tory MP being made a Lord purely for carrying May’s, Red White and Blue Brexit means Red Lines.
@GavinBarwell Gavin, why are you still crying about the Brexit result? It’s plain embarrassing.
@GavinBarwell The position of the EU is Open door to Britain and our benefits and social housing for all EU Nationals whilst UK Nationals aged 18-30 would only have access to one country. This would violate the UK Equality Act. Are you as an elected lord really pushing a two-tier system?
@GavinBarwell Is the EU experiencing growth? You seem to be living in the past. A bit of a little European.
@GavinBarwell Why would we be interested? The Turing scheme sends far more Brits to English speaking nations. This EU proposal would be hugely one sided as far more English speaking Europeans coming here than the other direction.
@GavinBarwell No harm done. Young people do far better getting out into the other 95% of the world, as they always have.
@GavinBarwell That's because it would be complete one-sided (EU to UK), without much gain for the UK except cheap labour (what your previous pay masters really loved). Londoners are obsessed with having a cheap au pair from Eastern Europe.
