Students love the new coloring table in the library. Instead of paper it is a washable/reusable tablecloth for many hours of warm recess fun during our cold wet winter. @EpsLibraries

A Kinder class asked what I was for Halloween. I told them I was a sleepy librarian who was in bed at 8 o’clock. The last guy in line was walking past me and said “So, you really were the Sleeping Beauty Librarian then.” Awww - thxs kid 😊

During my fifth grade class today I announced that @kaaauthor is writing a sequel to The One and Only Ivan about his dog friend named Bob. Audible gasps and a round of cheering and applause followed! We are all so excited for this book! @EpsLibraries #kidlit

Students were having a hard time finding books independently, so I gave them 3 books to find, with a partner, using the title & call number. They loved it! A better way for them to learn this skill than listening to me explain about call numbers AGAIN. ⁦@EpsLibraries⁩

I just finished All the Impossible Things by Lindsay Lackey. Wow. Such a great book! Excellent character development and very accurate descriptions of battling cancer and addiction, but in a MG appropriate way. Adding to my library for sure. @LindsayWrites @MGatheart

Today in the library we talked about the Harry Potter books being banned in Tennessee. Students were sad, shocked and angry. I used this as a chance to promote one of my favorite MG books “Ban This Book” by @AlanGratz. It was checked out immediately. I love being a librarian!

That whole “Good guy with a gun” theory is really working out in Texas and Ohio, right? Open carry states that both just had a white supremacist terrorist murder innocent people. Where were the citizen heroes to shoot these terrorists?! Exactly. Fix the damn gun laws already!
