If you read a paper or blogpost and find it useful, a nice thing to do is write a quick email to the author and tell them. Writing long-form technical content is so much work and I think authors probably systematically underestimate how much value they create.

There is nothing wrong with Up Front Design. Indeed, it is absolutely necessary. Just don’t do too much. A day or two. Maybe three. And then keep doing it as you write tests and code. And never believe it. Up front designs are necessary, but wrong.

@beenwrekt et al showed that policies trained to solve MuJoCo baselines, a common benchmark in DeepRL, simply overfits to the subtleties of a physics engine. In many cases, finding good solutions can be done via random search without diving into DeepMath.
