While eastern Afghanistan reels from the deadly Kunar quake, Pakistan has forced thousands of families back through the Torkham crossing in the east over the past three days, defying aid groups’ pleas to halt deportations.
@HabibKhanT Countless families are struggling for basic necessities like food, medicine and shelter. At such a time, it was expected that neighboring countries would extend a helping hand, but Pakistan has adopted the exact opposite approach.
@HabibKhanT Pakistan must remember that refugees are not just a burden, they are human beings—whose suffering transcends borders and treaties. It is moral bankruptcy to leave families who once fled war and Taliban rule in Pakistan to die in the midst of yet another disaster.
