This amazing turnaround has completely brought this room back to life! It’s always fantastic to see these success stories of spaces being reclaimed. The satisfaction of being able to use this room for its intended purpose after being unable to would be one of the best feelings.
Gardening is a fabulous way to connect with nature, giving you a sense of accomplishment, and to spend mindful time with yourself. A word of caution, try not to allow your hobby to distract you entirely from your plans and endeavours inside your home. #hoardingsupport

Respite from clutter can give you a taste for space. Visiting friends or family, being outdoors, can soothe the chaos in your mind, which often reflects the chaos in your home. It’s important to remember that hoarding doesn’t define you as a person!
Online resources are a great way to connect with people and better understand the challenges of hoarding disorder. Our website, Hoarding.Support has a members forum where you can find support and information from people who genuinely understand what you are going through.
Find your why. If you always plan to make space or complete projects or you feel ashamed of your home, you need to find your strongest reason for making a change. Your “Why” is your best motivation and whenever you feel yourself slipping, connect with your “Why” to stay on track
A fantastic way to preserve possessions that have meaning to you is to create a time capsule. It's a fun way to cherish memories without cluttering your space. You can achieve this by choosing a few meaningful items and sealing them in a box or container labelled with the date.
Everyone can relate to keeping sentimental items but do you think there is a difference between keeping your child’s first pair of shoes, and keeping out of date coupons for a discounted packet of cat food? What are the items you’ve kept which most people would throw away?

Hoarding is not just about the clutter; it's about the stories behind the items. Each possession holds significance to those affected. Understanding the emotional attachments can shed light on the complexities of hoarding disorder and pave the way for support and healing.
