For years now, Ringwald has been crapping all over John Hughes -- who was probably the most pro-American filmmaker since Capra -- even though her own modest reputation exists in his artistic shadow. I'm over it.

It wouldn’t occur to me to characterize a filmmaker as “pro-American” (or anti-American, for that matter). I don’t even know what that means. That his movies uphold American values? Are certain values necessarily tethered to a country or some sense of nationalism? He was just a good storyteller. How is that “pro-American”?
@Heminator Without John Hughes there’d have be no movie star Molly Ringwald. She should be more appreciative.
@Heminator Molly Ringwald was the least talented and least interesting thing in John Hughes‘ movies.
@Heminator Also, this must have been taken before they rewrote the ending of “Pretty In Pink” because test audiences HATED the original ending.
@Heminator She should do her part and relinquish her royalty money to people of color
@Heminator @dcs914 What, of significance, has she done since his movies?
@Heminator @JenDinnj Red hair. Translucent skin. Minimal talent. It's lucky they were white, otherwise she'd still be serving fries at Mickey D's.
