@IndiaBioscience Already we have Ramalingaswamy, Ramanujam & INSPIRE Faculty scheme's. Those people were performing very well, but our system is not able to do justice for those best performing candidates. How new tenure track system identify best people & improve academic & scientific community?
#NEP2019: There is no clear tenure track or career progression system at most institutions that ensures that hiring, retention, salary increase, promotion, and vertical mobility are all based on merit and quality of performance in teaching, research, and service.
Many of my senior #inspirefaculty colleagues are leaving science as they are unable to fine any career despite having a deserved qualification and good contribution to academics and research during the tenure. This is due to the system not providing the proper career path.
Inspire Faculty's career is dark and at question after their tenure. The scheme failed due to very poor implementation from DST mainly due to untimely release of salary and research grant which effected the performance of the candidate during the implementation.
As DST is not able find the solution for career problem of Inspire Faculties, they are downgrading the guidelines so that they can take their hands safely. Let the hundreds of good scientists going jobless. This will happen only in India. Shortsightedness of the policy makers.
