On the negative impact of exclusion of Zootaxa from JCR impact factor stats. Self-citation should be expected when one journal produces almost all taxonomy. Also highlights the issue that taxonomy isn't cited by other fields, though their work relies on a taxonomic foundation.

Please spread new generations of taxonomists to study poorly known groups, with few other specialists. Be praised by the society to be in the field of biodiversity in times of species loss. Then be punished by @Clarivate and @webofscience because you are doing the right thing.
