Oracle has 6 different ways of customizing the audit clause - they are all standard at Oracle. Ask your sales rep to find out how to build a stronger agreement. Sales reps are not compensated on t&cs.

Keep track of currency rates and the different pricelists. Sometimes if you point out that there is a 10% price difference due to currency fluctations. Oracle can grant you the right to purchase in another currency. #Oracle #procurement

You can split a support CSI by either 1a) migrating to a new license metric 2) doing a license assignment . That way you remove unused software and can reduce Oracle support fees

Oracle Q1 cloud results was poor But last year Oracle drastically cut the bonuses on selling cloud. This year they have increased sales bonuses for cloud so sales earn 4 times more selling cloud than licenses. So we expect an uptick in cloud sales for Q2.

Entering an Oracle ULA or PULA? You must negotiate the right to count Oracle deployments in a third party cloud. (Certification clause) We have seen this approved, but standard offer from Oracle that you cannot count any deployment in third party cloud. #Oracle #ULA #PULA #Cloud

under audit from Oracle ? If it is an partner that is responsible for auditing you. They are not being paid by Oracle. They get paid if they find non-compliance by you purchasing Oracle Software thru the partner. However there is no requirement you purchase thru the partner.

Did you know that if you leave support for third party @riministreet (stop paying to Oracle) if you go back to Oracle on support - you almost never need to pay the reinstatement fee if you have the right negotiation strategy.

What to ask from Oracle when negotiating a license deal. Ask for support caps (no increases in support) - You can ask for up to 5 years. Depending on the deal size then with different results. But even if you dont have the support cap you can ask for no increase at renewal.

Did you know that Oracle does not have the same discount system as Microsoft? Small customers can have more discount than large customers. Highest discount we have seen is 99% - You need to understand what is maximum discount for your purchase.
