Are you still writing static detections in your SOC? “5 wrong password attempts in 2 minutes = brute force attack.”. Is it really? Static thresholds lack context. If you have SignIn logs for a year or more sitting idle, you’re sitting on gold. linkedin.com/posts/iftekhar…?

For years, we've been hoarding security data, storing TBs and petabytes just to keep it somewhere for those compliance and "Just in case" scenarios. Every log can tell a story of attacks attempted, defenses breached, or weaknesses ignored. Isn't it time we did something with it?

We have begun rolling out updates to the Threat & Vulnerability Management capabilities in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to surface vulnerable Log4j library components. These capabilities automatically discover vulnerable Log4j libraries on Windows clients and Windows servers.
