CMS Developers - When you build, build to future proof with the intent of supporting CMS features for future client needs. If you build in a way that prevents CMS strengths from being utilized: you are doing it wrong. Full stop.

Over-architecting in CMS is when you build features that do not support CMS functionality, utilities, and product capabilities. Not when you build features in a way that do.
Code is for humans, not machines. Maybe yours will be erased some day, but it will certainly outlive your tenure. Make it beautiful. Organize it. Document it. Make it readable. Code is art. It can be a poem you give to your colleagues. Say something nicer than "F*** you".
