Today in class we talked how some jobs slowly (or quickly) move to be automatic/robotic. I wonder, is it all because it's more efficient? Or is there some glimmer of "hey, look what I can do with this robot"?

Just saw an ad for NLI...reland and my mind went, "huh, right." Then I remembered that me and a new cataloger a while ago were baffled when the National Library of India had access to NLI records. Took us too long to figure it out🤦‍♀️

The Library didn’t only contain magical books, the ones which are chained to their shelves and are very dangerous. It also contained perfectly ordinary books, printed on commonplace paper in mundane ink. It would be a mistake to think…

I encountered this exchange recently, and I wonder: is it harder to erase history today due to the plethora of social media and (seemingly) unmediated communication? Or are we deluding ourselves and history will remain in the hands of the victorious? (or the loudest?)
