I've been a teacher for well over 4 years, but building relationships remains the most effective way to manage my classes. 'Relationships' don't have to entail being 'besties' with your students; it means forging a common bond toward the goal of learning.

If you don't think morale is important, remember that a student's learning environment is created by the teacher. A teacher who is supported, valued, & appreciated will create a more positive & dynamic learning environment than a teacher who is not.

Teachers don't leave because it's hard. Teachers are some of the hardest working professionals I know. They leave because the expectations and demands become more unrealistic every year.
