Ben: While your effort to make the interview despite being ill is admirable, I’d rather you didn’t pass on what sounds like the plague.
Ann: I don’t mind the piercings per se, but when they keep you from talking without a speech impediment, that's a problem.
Jim: Taking a call on your cell during the interview is bad enough. Taking one that “could be the offer I’ve been waiting on” is worse.
Kara: Your enthusiasm for your college team is great, but shouting “Go Bears!” each time they were mentioned was a bit much.
Lena: If this truly is the first time you’ve worn heels, might I suggest flats for interviews? Might help with the falling down.
Note to Sue: Uh, yes, this is the best we can offer, even if you do “want a little more so you can take a nicer vacation this year.”
Sy –Nice new suit, but maybe you want to cut the tags off before you arrive vs. in our waiting area?
Mel: Love the thank you note, but would have loved it even more if you spelled my name (and that of the company’s) correctly.
Note to Judd: I know you’re only 22, but calling your Mom to get advice on a job offer during the interview doesn’t fill us with confidence.
Larry: I love that your response to my telling you that we do background checks was “I’ll be withdrawing my application.”
Note to Kip: Telling me that “this is not your ideal job but you’d take it if offered” probably isn’t going to get you an offer.
And we’re back! Jim: Saying you left your last job because you “topped out in your role” is funny, since you were only there for 8 weeks.
