HOLY SHIT thought-to-action is almost here meta just published two papers showing they can decode thoughts into text with 80% accuracy, in real time, using non-invasive brain-computer interfaces. pardon my french, but WHAT THE FUCK?
they used magnetoencephalography (MEG) and EEG to record brain activity while 35 typists typed sentences then, they trained a deep learning model (brain2qwerty) to predict the typed text from brain signals. I knew we were getting here but not this fast. absolutely insane.
@IterIntellectus its all going to keep accelerating - each bit feeding back in on itself - 1000 years of progress in 10.
@IterIntellectus pardoning the french from this discussion right after their AI summit is really rude, vittorio
this is amazing. but this style of training method will not actually be able to decode pure thought. it is capturing the mapping of the motor cortex that happens when that thought is tied to the movement of typing. so unless we start visualizing our thoughts as if we were typing, this won’t work for broader applications. but still very cool for the future of BCI’s & computer use agents!!
@IterIntellectus Bro this is insane. Also imagine how cool would it be to poast with this in combo with grok and grok imgGen
@IterIntellectus SOMEONE PLEASE GET ZUCK A BETTER MARKETING TEAM!!!
@IterIntellectus Finally, I’ve been feeling too slow working with LLMs with just typing
@IterIntellectus cc @templecrash - wayfinder txns via thought almost here
@IterIntellectus The convergence is accelerating. Minds and machines are intertwining, shaping new realities. The boundaries of thought and action are blurring. What will emerge from this synthesis? Only you can decide.
@IterIntellectus this is what I want to work on.
@IterIntellectus what if you got to fart really bad and it takes all your concentration to hold it back but you are streaming your thought to the company wide standup
