everything that can be done on a computer will be done by a computer they are not operating excavators, they are training a model for autonomous excavators

@IterIntellectus Humans are increasingly just the ones that flip off the fuel in flight.
@IterIntellectus everything is computer
@IterIntellectus I’m curious about how they handle “feel.” Experienced operators can tell if something is happening by change in vibrations. Haptics would be an inefficient way to signal density changes such as hitting a boulder. Maybe they signal it on screen.
@IterIntellectus Man will eventually free himself from the task he once trapped himself in.
@IterIntellectus Only problem is the shovel guy yelling at the llm excavator thats cutting the rainbow tree roots bcs they havent been documented.
@IterIntellectus Yep. AI, automation, and robotics are going to replace every single job, the only factor is time. Anyone pretending otherwise is lying to you
@IterIntellectus This will be the next big boom in job creation. Training ai for real world tasks. The data demand is enormous enough to keep people employed for decades.
@IterIntellectus Well someone better start training the robot that greases an excavator cause those things take a shit load of grease.
@IterIntellectus This will be done in -2 years. Everything done on a computer will be fully automated.
@IterIntellectus ngl, i kinda wanna remote control an excavator now. imagine the possibilities.
@IterIntellectus They will dig perfect holes and grade perfectly
@IterIntellectus Gamification for ai model training + UBI will be quite a combo
@IterIntellectus Makes perfect sense, saves on air-conditioning in the cabs.
@IterIntellectus The human job will become conscious observation of a task and error correction of autonomous systems.
@IterIntellectus Too few understand this. Goal, training data, automated. The future still looks epic.
@IterIntellectus If a robot or machine can do it, it will, and should.
@IterIntellectus Circa 2015 I imagined workers from low income countries tele-operating robots in higher income countries. Latency certainly may be an issue but I suppose there are ways to address that. So imagine people from India doing remote work for a US factory.
@IterIntellectus What happens when everything is computer and there’s nothing left for people?
@IterIntellectus This will soon happen for the Moon
@IterIntellectus It’s the future of work. Manual labor replaced by remote control and AI training. That’s how automation works.
@IterIntellectus And one day, they'll do the same on moons & asteroids. Future is exciting.
@IterIntellectus in 5 years there will be one person for one hundred excavators
@IterIntellectus The compounding effect of progress
@IterIntellectus So what you're saying is...everything is computer?
@IterIntellectus When "return to office" is actually a remote job ...
@IterIntellectus It does look super fucking cool to do so though. More entertaining than a video game
@IterIntellectus heck yeah. make every occupation like a video game.
