We massively underestimate how rethinking street space for people instead of cars could transform our cities. And we massively overestimate how hard it actually is to do. It just takes vision, skill & will.

I’ve been called out for my view that we should redirect public funding and focus away from electric vehicles toward alt & public transit. EVs are here. Good. Let private auto companies promote them. Public efforts should focus on public goods IMO. Thoughts and insights welcome

In much of the U.S. we know that old age could easily bring the loss of the ability to drive a car safely and...and the loss of freedom of movement and aging in place. Car culture has created the problem and we can fix it.

We expect speed limit signs and speeding tickets to slow drivers down to within 10 miles per hour of the posted limit, but those are not nearly as effective as DESIGNING our roads so people drive the speed limit. pressherald.com/2022/07/14/por…
