This has to be the longest standing ovation for anyone or anything I have ever witnessed. 4000 high school students in Normandy, France standing to honor our World War II veterans. This area in northern France has not forgotten the events of 80 years ago. Honored and humbled beyond words to be here with my daughter volunteering with the @bestdefense_ supporting their mission to “take care of the ones who took care of us” assisting World War II veterans as they return to the sand and soil on which they fought.
@JackCarrUSA I went to Normandy Fance last May. As part of that I went to the Caen museum of WW2. School buses of local students were there learning the history of Nazi invasion and D day landings. Many restaurants and pubs in the area had US flags. They are serious about remembering!
@JackCarrUSA Unfortunately, this would not happen HERE and that is a damn shame.
@JackCarrUSA This was my experience too. When i have visited France, i never encountered any animosity to Americans. And in Normandy people thanked us as if we had been part of the invasion.
@JackCarrUSA Because they do not remove it from the education of the young!!
@JackCarrUSA I will be in Normandy on the 12th. I can't wait. First going to Meuse-Argonne American Cemetry and a few other WW1 sites.
@JackCarrUSA It would be nice if that would happen in the US. Most of the kids in school now have no clue about Normandy.
@JackCarrUSA @mercoglianos The United States would not have gained independence without the assistance of France so our helping them to reclaim their independence was just the right thing to do. That young people in France appreciate it is great and makes me feel better about the world.
@JackCarrUSA Europe will never forget. It is not only France. 🇩🇰
@JackCarrUSA I have experienced elders with tears in their eyes, when in northern France and Brittany, thank me personally for 🇺🇸 help at places like Utab beach. It brings tears to my eyes, still, to this day.
@JackCarrUSA Thank you for doing this. Signed the daughter of a WWII vet.
@JackCarrUSA Wow that really is amazing. So heartwarming and glad they honored them so
@JackCarrUSA I miss the days when we could get that response here in the US
@JackCarrUSA When you leave Paris, France becomes much more amazing.
@JackCarrUSA If not for the French providing the early formed US colonies with cannons, the war of tyranny against Germany would have been lost. France has played a pivotal role in our history That we could liberate them was the least we could do to show our love to them
@JackCarrUSA @chiIIum remember what i said about the French government not listening to the people?
@JackCarrUSA NICE. THANKS for recording for us. Normandy: The only part of France I could live in.
@JackCarrUSA In Holland they still fly American flags on their homes
@JackCarrUSA Truly. It’s amazing how the people of France continue to honor our country and our dead.
@JackCarrUSA Our Nation owes its gratitude to the men and women who sacrificed their lives to triumph over evil. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The courage, resolve, and fear, each of these young soldiers faced and accomplished is why Europe is free from Nazi oppression. It is noteworthy too the 4,000 who attended to pay tribute represent the values and ideals that they will carry with them today and throughout their lives. 🇺🇸
@JackCarrUSA That is so wonderful. Thank you for sharing this 🙏❤️🇺🇸
@JackCarrUSA I am both amazed and grateful this occurred. Perhaps all is not lost.
@JackCarrUSA So great. Another country that has never forgotten what the US did for them is South Korea. Every time I visit, someone approaches me with a "thank you"......in-spite of what you hear, the US has a lot of friends.....
@JackCarrUSA Beautiful heart felt honor to our World War II Veterans and those that gave their lives. United We Stand with You 🇺🇸🇫🇷
@JackCarrUSA These heroes that ran towards seemingly inevitable death were the same age as many of these French kids on D-Day! Remember Patton's army & other experienced units were used as decoys elsewhere to prevent further German fortification. The average soldier on D-Day was under 22.🙏
@JackCarrUSA The French people... the salt of the earth. It's a real shame they have Macron.
@JackCarrUSA That's because D-Day was awesome! If you have the chance to visit the D-Day Museum in New Orleans, I highly recommend it.
@JackCarrUSA @legs_bow This is outstanding 👏👏👏 Sadly would never happen in Canada 🇨🇦 history is quelled & lost here
