2. Surrey's argument will focus on a Deloitte report prepared for government which provides costing for 3 policing scenarios. Surrey is saying the gov’s own report shows the cost of transition is significant for Surrey taxpayers, hence the desire to keep the RCMP. #bcpoli
3. Page 10 Scenarios Overview “This report presents the costing and financial analysis for three (3) scenarios in scope as defined by the Ministry. That is, retaining RCMP (at 734 sworn officers), or retaining the SPS (at 734 sworn officers and 900 sworn officers)." #bcpoli
10. Here’s the release from the city of Surrey: #bcpoli “Bombshell hidden provincial report confirms SPS costs to skyrocket by $750M” surrey.ca/news-events/ne…
whats wrong with those stats about manpower is that having 2 per car and similar manpower to RCMP will cover less ground, Surrey similar in size to Vancouver which has 1400 officers I believe, Surrey will need many more officers than what these numbers are saying, raising the cost more
@JasJohalBC Jas, keep in mind the 2 officer cars would require closer to 1150 officers. Just take 80% of the VPD model and cost then apply it to Surrey. Collective Agreements are extremely similar.
@JasJohalBC Totally Damming report which Farnworth did all they could to hide from public & media which clearly exposes the lies & misinformation deliberately put out by Farnworth & Lipinski both of whom have been lying through their teeth for years to Surrey Mayor,Council & Taxpayers !
