Indian academics: I am thinking of starting a petition/appeal to remove the under-35 criteria from their faculty selection guidelines.
Even if it proves useless, at least the demand will be highlighted. It will be a start.
What do you all think?
Why is there so much despondency in India when there's 8% growth?
Why are VCs on Christmas break in Blr so excited - but lifetime denizens making a beeline for immigrant visas?
Why does the very mention of taxes give rashes?
A quick 3-tier model of India explaining this:
Overlooking the intentionally catchy title, this article puts forth an interesting idea of building an intelligent observer (not necessarily self-aware) inside a quantum computer to test the limits of quantum measurements: scientificamerican.com/article/can-ai…
As a new college student, I remember finding condensed matter physics not as cool as particle physics and cosmology. Still, I fell in love with its beauty and challenges later on. See: physicsworld.com/a/whats-the-ma… by @JimKakalios@PhysicsWorld which talks about this issue. #Physics
I recently wrote an article/tutorial in the Spectre platform by @MathpixApp on Monte-Carlo simulations for someone with no previous experience with this. Take a look: spectra.mathpix.com/article/2022.0…
Molly.jl v0.11.0 is out after a productive week hacking with Noé Blassel.
New features include a flexible Langevin integrator, support for infinite boundaries and a number of new ways to log observables throughout a simulation.

Now one computer is not enough. Has anyone tried making their own distributed system out of 2 or 3 personal computers? I would like to know how. #programming#Computers

'Studying the brain using statistical physics and network science', can one sentence carry more academic punch than this? Just want to share a review article I read on this: doi.org/10.1038/s42254… by @DaniSBassett and @ChrisWLynn.
