Gold bugs everywhere on my feed this morning. I don't own gold because of debt/gdp, inflation or money printing. In the words of Kyle Bass-'Gold has one function-it is insurance against the stupidity of central bankers and politicians'. That's why I own gold!

Looks like a section of the Tories would like a merger with Reform (Dorries, Rees-Mogg). Unlikely to happen if Reform continue wtih 30%+ polling. Suicide for Reform if they do.

My guess is the stagflation narrative in the US has another 6 months to go. Then people will catch on that it is actually only the stag part that is an issue. In the Uk with a muppet chancellor I reserve comment until after the budget-will it be inflationary taxes or not?

So we're going to net emmigration. With a birth rate of 1.76 (2025) and productivity falling .8% in the last year that means recession as far as the eye can see. Now imagine how much tax you will pay if we are in constant recession. Is this another lie from SW1?

US 10yr- broken downside resistance at 4.14% and likely to go to 4% now. BLS reports 22K jobs and 4.3% unemployment rate. Forward markets now showing 3 rate cuts for Sept, Oct, Nov. (NIA)

10yr treasury- is going into the NFP at resistance between 4.14-6%. A bad number and bad revisions on Tuesday could see it break and head below 4%. Before the change of BLS head numbers were generally higher than expected (and subsequently revised lower). What about now? (NIA).

I am not worried about a US recession-if it happens at all (unlikely)it will be very mild. What concerns me is that after the 100 basis points of FFR cuts in the next 6 months the economy does not pick up materially. That would make Trump's midterms and the market very vulnerable

Tax, spend, print and regulate is the only game left in town. Anything else just means recession and no politician will go for it. The result is that Liberals will continue to dominate the sane people. More taxing and spending is our future.

US economy- Beige book and job openings both signalling that growth is almost zero presently. The Beige book also suggested that inflation was accelerating. If house values continue to fall I can't see the US economy picking up for a while. youtube.com/watch?v=FQ558o…

There was an analysis of a Daily Mail newspaper several years ago that concluded that almost 1/3 of the facts in the paper were untrue. X must be the same. There are more incorrect facts on here every day than I have had hot dinners!
