Is this strange? Male Goosander with Red-breasted Mergansers. On the Stour estuary today. Mistley Walls.
The Ipswich Waxwings are still showing a treat (once you pin them down). They were in my neighbours tree for half an hour this afternoon (and there was a Sparrowhawk about- let's hope it doesn't develop a taste for Waxwings!)
Here's one of the 7 beauties I first saw from my kitchen in Ipswich last Friday. Have just seen them again. They like a certain Rowan (packed with berries) on Blanche Street, though they are also quite restless.
Decided to do a dawn 'kitchenwatch' today, and to my happy surprise there were at least 7 Waxwings in my neighbour's trees. So so lucky. I could easily have not seen them.
Luckily managed to catch the Norfolk bee-eaters as they arrived back at the quarry around 5.30 pm yesterday, the young having fledged in the morning. This is presumably an adult about to feed a young one.
Ok NATO stay out of it. But what about sending in UN peacekeepers!?

Could this be a 'unicorn'? Makes a change to see Fallow deer NOT being chased by dogs on Sutton Common today. 9 out of 10 dogs were off lead. No wonder we did'nt see any Woodlarks. The law is not being enforced.

Great to find two Peregrines back at BT this am. Met a guy involved with construction of the Brightwell Lakes development, who thought it probably won't start this year. Was due in 2017. I wonder what its impact might be on their breeding?
