Our society has mastered the art of deconstruction but nobody knows how to put things back together. Meanwhile, Jesus is building his church. My advice: deconstruct anything contrary to Scripture & then rebuild with Christ as the cornerstone & the Scriptures as the foundation.

The trend in the church is to emphasize the effects of sin (w/out talking about sin) & the effects of the gospel (w/out talking about the gospel). If Christianity is gutted of its central message, don’t be surprised when it leads to a consumeristic, shallow, me-centered faith.

Isn’t a “woke” egalitarian doing the same thing as a “we are all one” complementarian? Both champion one form of distinctiveness while turning a blind eye to another form of distinctiveness. Maybe we can’t have our cake and eat it too?

When the local church fails to critically engage with culture, it either surrenders to culture or defies culture. Either way will end with the lampstand being removed.
