My view on “Able to work” If someone works, but has no quality of life, or isn’t able to have any life outside of work because work takes all their energy/capacity that they may have left over after managing their condition(s)… They are not able to work.

True, money doesn’t bring you happiness, but it does bring you freedom. I can’t tell you how many disabled people I know that are stuck with people who they don’t like or are abused by but can’t leave because of money. Money is the ability to make choices.

I have a cousin in the north bay who married a cop who makes $240,000/yr with overtime. Imagine how much we could invest in public housing and mental health programs instead of paying pigs to harass the unhoused.

Am I the only one that sees a problem with working 8-9 hours a day and then going home to having about 4 hours to yourself which includes getting ready for the next day??? This is not life…

one of the worst parts of BPD if object permanence. you can be in a room filled with 100 people who love you and you love them, but the second you’re away from them physically, you feel like the loneliest person in the universe and like those relationships don’t actually exist

After all these years it feels surreal to see your sexual abuser finally get caught. 16 year old me made the choice to not say anything because I was vulnerable and had no one safe to speak to. Maybe I could have stopped other people going through the same. I don’t know.

Psych wards certainly do nothing to alleviate suicidality but produce a terror of going back there. You just learn you can't afford to be unsuccessful in your attempts. They are not a therapeutic place to recover from suicide attempts, they just prolong the trauma.
