Every time I buy dinner directly from a wonderful local restaurant in our community, and every dollar goes to keeping them going (rather than using an app that would’ve taken a sharp cut of the revenue) brings me a momentary but meaningful sense of joy.
@JoshMatlow Mine won't deliver to me directly so I have to use an app. Better than nothing.
@JoshMatlow This is a step in the right direction. Sadly many of the places you love won’t be there much longer without real government support. Take out business isn’t enough. Rent is due very soon and many can’t cover their fixed costs. We are trying to be patient but time is running out.
@JoshMatlow Which are your faves in the ward? Looking to do the same :)
@JoshMatlow I work for one of those apps as a driver and I fully agree. The best way to support a restaurant is by giving them a visit. I always do that and never use the app for myself
@JoshMatlow I did that before the virus! Perhaps everyone could contribute to make a list of those especially vulnerable that don't have contracts with apps. Curious- the ones that are apps is it in their contract with the app to not do direct? Would be helpful to know.
@JoshMatlow Josh is there a listing of all the restaurants still open our community?
@JoshMatlow Try using TAXI'S. Aren't they An Essential Service
