I would like the increasing number of survivors doing masters, doctorates and PhDs on areas of which they have lived/living experience (YES!) to have some type of formal survivor-designed backup outside individual universities if there is not enough support in local structures.

@Shrink_at_Large My mental health has deteriorated tenfold,after having to battle the NHS various services.Not one service has got my care&treatment right. My conditions overlap,but services don't speak to each other.Had to Google everything!Had to chase services up constantly.Dire!😓.XX.
One of the consequences of the NHS being so underfunded and overstretched is vulnerable and gravely ill patients with multiple physical and mental health problems having to coordinate their own incredibly complex care between specialisms that won't speak or write to each other.
BPD as a construct has always been used to victim-blame trauma survivors who are not able or willing to disappear in the neat, confined sadness required to enable society to keep looking away. Any one replacement term fails in allowing the same old ideas to be slid across.

@Shrink_at_Large .I'm so grateful to twitter members, very much including you, who I've relied on to help me through dark nights. I wish I could say the same for @NHS mental health services. My experience is that they unforgivably often drive the suicidal towards the precipice. We deserve better.
When someone we have grown up with or long known of dies by suicide, it can make us feel suicide is inevitable but it never is. There are many pathways out from great pain, many trajectories even if it has been decades. Please be super gentle to yourself x

The Borderline label is used to label patients as hostile, manipulative, attention-seeking. It rationalises sadistic counter-transference and justifies the repetition of emotional neglect by mental health services. Often, it's the staff projecting and denying, not the patient.
One of the common arguments 'for' the BPD label is it helps get people get help. Let's be very clear: overwhelmingly the reverse is true. So, specialist service folk, recognise you are the exception not the rule and 25 years of attempts to reduce stigma haven't changed this.

I was on s.3 for psychosis, v difficult patient, a PICU rejected me, then suddenly redx with PD, discharged within 2 days. Not long after ended up in criminal justice system as at next 136 was not sectioned as ‘nothing they could do’
I’ve fully healed from schizophrenia (no meds). I have the evidence to back up my claim, but bio-psychiatry doesn’t want the evidence. What would that mean? A new approach to mental suffering. An end to bio-research funding. Retraining. Real hope and healing for sufferers.
