Been using various machines for assisted sprinting since the early 90s. They did the job, but of course the data output was limited. I learned that pulling >5% of body mass is not only unnecessary, it can be dangerous. The trend I see on social media today is frankly ridiculous.

“High intensity” is relative. You don’t need to be fit to do HIIT. For some people walking up the stairs is HIIT. For others it’s 400W on a bike. HIIT is perfectly if not under emphasized for general fitness.

Proper interval training is like being an artist. You have all of these variables (speed, recovery, rep length, set length, pacing, etc.) and each twist, changes the stimulus a bit. You can do 100m repeats that work on speed or aerobic endurance. Be an artist, get innovative.
