Because suffering, worry, depression and pain are feelings, they are types of mind, so it follows that they exist inside and not outside our mind. If while experiencing adverse conditions our mind remains calm and happy through the practice of patience, we do not have a problem.

Buddha taught that the mind has the power to create all pleasant and unpleasant objects. The world is the result of the karma, or actions, of the beings who inhabit it. A pure world is the result of pure actions and an impure world is the result of impure actions.

We should not tolerate our own delusions, such as ignorance, attachment, and anger. Since these constantly destroy our peace of mind and cause us continual suffering, they are our real enemy. We need to become fully aware of this and try to avoid falling under their influence.
