I’m thinking about getting an electric car. I’m what you would describe as a city driver. As I don’t do long distances, am very conscious that we need to make a change in how we get around on roads & pollution. Please can you share any experiences with your #electriccar thanks
@KToogie Depends why you think they’re better. The battery is not a sustainable product at all but they do produce less particulate in the city you’re driving it in.
@KToogie Don't get a fully electric car. Hybrid. You don't want to get stranded or have to worry about cooking out. Also I think the electric cars run better on long runs? Motorways because they charge themselves up?
@KToogie I’ve had one since sept 2021. First 6mth i had to use pay chargers after that i moved and now i have a proper charge point. I do about 30 miles a day and charge a couple of times a week. Get about 160-180 miles in summer, less in winter depending on if town or dual carriageways
@KToogie I’ve not long passed my test and have an electric Mini - I love it. I’ve only had to charge at home so far (about £5 a time) and it’s great for short distances. Haven’t made long journeys yet but having a pit stop to charge won’t be an inconvience! X
