In #Budget2024 we reached a historic milestone, allocating $6.1 billion for the Canada Disability Benefit. This is a critical step as we work to close social safety net gaps. We're also covering the cost of medical forms for the Disability Tax Credit, making it easier to access.
@KamalKheraLib Why is this linked to DTC? Isn’t this a barrier for people with disabilities?
@KamalKheraLib As so many others have stated here and on other posts, you, MP Qualtrough, MP Freeland & PM Trudeau have handed the next election to Poilievre.😡 The disability community, plus our family and friends, have historically voted *left*. The four of you angered a mighty voting base.
@KamalKheraLib You're proudly failing #peoplewithdisabilities, and your failure is as historic as your AWOL pulled on #seniors. Your days of grifting off our portfolio are numbered and your removal will help #PWDS move forward with a new government that will fix your critical mistakes. #RESIGN
Kamal Khera, you should not selectively interpret issues, given your misunderstanding of the extensive history behind our #AccessibilityLens. It is disappointing that your experience as a geriatric nurse limits your perspective to a medical viewpoint, which contrasts with the perspective of people with disabilities who advocate for a livable income as part of their accessibility needs. Michael J. Prince's understanding surpasses yours in this matter. It is frustrating to observe you relying heavily on the prepared transcript. Furthermore, your approach to the Disability Tax Credit is ineffective and serves no meaningful purpose. A mere $200 is insufficient and only makes access more challenging.
Indeed, this feels like a significant step backward, akin to returning to the old Canadian Red Ensign instead of the modern flag of Canada that we've come to recognize. I vividly remember the thrill of seeing the new Canadian flag flying during the 1967 Centennial Year when I was just six years old. Similarly, the federal government, specifically the Liberal government, has disappointingly made no effort to elevate the Canada Disability Benefit to match the poverty line of $2,200, instead offering a mere $200 a month. This amount is painfully inadequate. Indeed, this situation reflects a regression, as if we are reverting to the old Canadian Red Ensign instead of embracing the current flag of Canada. 👈😎👍📱♾👁🗨💬🛰️🆘 #AccessibilityLens 2024
@KamalKheraLib Show the whole interview, Kamal ..I dare you! All the sighs and parroting the same answers over... and over...and over...
@KamalKheraLib Is this a joke ? Do you know how hard it is to get the DTC or even get it filled out . The DTC is only for lowering taxes. It almost never helps any Canadians. You need to remove the DTC requirement you have failed. You have harmed the disabled community by doing this.
