Assisting the BC Ambulance Service is one of our most important roles. We often work with them to help with getting an injured person onto a helicopter or into an ambulance for rapid transport to a hospital. #searchandrescue #bcsara

An important part of high angle rescue are the edge personnel. They act as the go between for the attendants and the team up top and provide valuable assistance for getting people and stretchers up and down the edge.

Sadly, BC's first avalanche fatality of the season occurred last week. It's a stark reminder to get the training, have the equipment, and pay attention to the forecasts and conditions before venturing into the backcountry during the winter. Play safe out there everyone! (JM)
