A dazzling combination of colors on this large White-banded Crab Spider.

Tachytes, sp. A solitary, predatory wasp that hunts primarily grasshoppers. They have beautiful green eyes, but they're very rare to see in my experience.

This beautiful wasp is Ibalia anceps, a parasitoid of wood wasps, like Pigeon Horntails. It seems pretty rare to come across one. This is the first one I've ever seen, and what a wonderful encounter it was! #parasitoid #wasps #insectphotography

SCORPIONFLIES! The first two shots look almost like a mirror image. But if you look closely you'll see the first is a female and the second is a male. You can tell the male apart from the female by its curved, scorpion-like "tail".

A magnificent spider, this is 𝘛𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘢 𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘢, The Silver Long-jawed Orbweaver. Found right on the edge of a small stream, this one held tight trying to blend in with it's surroundings as best it could while I went in close for some shots. What a beauty!

A Wavy-Lined Heterocampa Moth Caterpillar, 𝘊𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢. One of many caterpillars found using a UV light. Their skin glows brightly under a black light at night making them relatively easy to spot.
