It was great to speak with MP Jasraj Singh Hallan, Canada's Shadow Minister for Finance today at the @AME_BC office about the importance of Canadian mineral exploration and mines on a domestic and global stage. Canada is a strong democracy that champions human rights and reconciliation, while also being leaders in how mines are explored for and developed. There are incredible Indigenous Nations who are leaders in mineral exploration and mining like Nisga'a Nation and the Tahltan Nation. Thank you Jasraj for championing this message on the domestic and international stage. I also shared with Jasraj the importance of making fiscal measures like the mining exploration tax credit (METC) permanent, the business impacts, such as flow-through shares of the capital gains tax and Bill C-69, in order to help ensure that our industry attracts investment dollars. Having people in Ottawa who understand that natural resources are the backbone of our economy is vital. I look forward to more discussions about how to spur on investment and let our members keep exploring for critical minerals in Canada. PS - We hope to see you at an @AMEroundup hockey tourney one day!
@KeeritJutlaAME @jasrajshallan @AME_BC Shadow ministers are the political version of a second goalie. Great leaders listen to polished criticism, and novel proposals.
