The lady who adopted Gala yesterday told me to come and take her...so I did. Apparently, Gala found a hiding spot, where she remained all night + today, and came out to eat and use the litter. I told her that this is normal behavior but she didn't want to give her a chance...🙁
@savingstraycatz That's awful, I'm so sorry for poor Gala. All adopters should be given something like this in writing. What do these people expect?! Every time I adopt a cat I actually PREPARE a hiding spot under the bed (self heating blankie, soft pillow etc) to make it easier. Poor baby.
@KittyLaBelle_ This is great, thank you! I'll translate it in Macedonian and print it out. And I did explain this before I gave her the cat, as I always do. She said she understood, but apparently she didn't...

@KittyLaBelle_ @savingstraycatz My darling girl hid under the bed for 3 weeks. She became my most loving, communicative, friend.
@KittyLaBelle_ @savingstraycatz It’s taken 3 years for one of my rescue cats to sit next to me on the sofa. I am so happy he is finally trusting me. If you expect immediate results don’t get a shelter cat. But if you have some patience the rewards are great, for you and the cat.

@KittyLaBelle_ @savingstraycatz That is so sad. 😿 It's purrfectly normal cat behaviour. We aren't toys!
@KittyLaBelle_ @savingstraycatz Exactly the same is true of dogs.
@KittyLaBelle_ @savingstraycatz This is a very helpful article. And so true❤️ Love, Patrice ❤️
@KittyLaBelle_ @savingstraycatz Me too. They get my spare room until they're ready to explore. I will go and sit in there and read or play some soft classical chilled music so they get used to my smell and that I'm not a threat. It can take weeks and weeks with a previously traumatised cat to learn to trust
