We provide community members with tangible ways to love, care for and support incarcerated individuals and their families.knowmenow.org OregonJoined November 2019
'Tis the season to celebrate community and engage in generosity. We wish you all a joyous season and recognize that along with joy, for many, there is grief.
Be kind and choose empathy.

Research shows that incarcerated parents who maintain a connection with their kids have a higher chance of a successful re-entry after time served. We want to ensure that bonding and connection are not lost. Directly support kids & parents at knowmenow.org/volunteer
Right now, there are almost 15,000 adults incarcerated in an Oregon State prison, many of whom are #parents. It's common for parents to lose connection with their #children over the course of their #incarceration.
Incarceration can feel isolating and hopeless. We want to show families that there is so much hope in their future and we're ready to walk alongside them. Join us at knowmenow.org/volunteer#volunteer#community#hope
Know Me Now believes kids should be connected with their incarcerated parents, so we focus on 2 areas to stabilize families:
1️⃣ Providing visitation for kids & parents during incarceration & beyond
2️⃣ Mobilizing the community (that's YOU!) to provide supports for families
SAVE THE DATE: October 15th, join us for a golf tournament in support of kids and parents impacted by incarceration.
Play a round of golf, have some lunch, and more!
Stay tuned for more information!

“I have no one to lean on, but that only makes me more determined to succeed. I just need someone to show me the way.”
There is power in community. Incarcerated Oregonians welcome community support as they transition home. Get involved at knowmenow.org/volunteer/crew…
As we look ahead to lifted COVID mandates, our team was eager to meet w/our partners at Columbia River Correctional Institution today! We discussed plans moving forward for our incarcerated neighbors and their families, as well as future hospitality opportunities for CRCI staff.
We stand to improve relational connections for kids and their #parents.
We seek to mobilize Oregonians as networks of support— in homes and neighborhoods.
We strive to lower #prison-reentry rates and keep children, parents, and communities together.

Know Me Now challenges us to forget what we think we know about incarcerated individuals and their history, and demands we take them for the invaluable family member and neighbor that they’re here to be.

30%+ of incarcerated adults have a child in foster care and many of these individuals had touched the foster care system themselves as kids. We hope that through communities coming together, we can repair and strengthen family bonds.
