As an Indigenous researcher and journal editor, I strongly oppose this. Positionality statements create transparency and, at a minimum, give us insight to the ethical worldview of the researchers and provide a way to mitigate the exploitative nature of research.

I am giving several talks on infant feeding over the next month - all containing elements of critical reflection on the harm that the patriarchy and white feminism has done to infant feeding. I also align intersectionality to the Determinants of Health and Trauma Informed Care.
