When trying to figure out how to start doing something, visualize your END GOAL and reverse-engineer. We also find that most people tend to overcomplicate when beginning as well. Doing this can cause things to appear much more daunting and intimidating than they really are.

The "Do Something" principle: Action -> Inspiration -> Motivation -> Action For example: You want to do 30min on the bike but that seems daunting. Start with the goal of doing 5min, and you'll likely find yourself wanting to do more. JUST. START.

No promise = high churn. If your community doesn't have a promise of where it's trying to take members, eventually your members will get sick of 'floating' and waiting for a sense of direction and will leave to find somewhere that WILL fill that void/need. Have a promise.
