people always say “that wasn’t my intention,” and that’s literally the point. intention and consideration wasn’t in the room at all.
@LeArielleSimone Actions speak louder than intentions and real care comes from thinking ahead
@LeArielleSimone Intention is in one’s control, outcome and effect is not.
@LeArielleSimone Intention doesn’t erase the consequences. Real awareness comes from recognizing the effect, not just defending the cause.
@LeArielleSimone A person with pure intentions does not have to REPEATEDLY reference their intentions to defend harmful actions. They won’t constantly say “it wasn’t my intention” because their intentions are very unlikely to be questioned as their actions and words make their intentions CLEAR.
@LeArielleSimone There needs to be intention to care or the intention is to be careless. Idk moving like an enemy unintentionally is wicked work.
@LeArielleSimone usually when someone says this, they only care about clearing their own conscience, guilt and reputation. it’s less about your feelings, self awareness, & accountability and more about this idea of themselves that they must hold & defend in their head.
@LeArielleSimone I read this quote once that reads “we judge other people based on their actions and ourselves based on intention” & it really highlights the gap between how we experience our own inner world versus how we observe others
@LeArielleSimone This is a general go-to phrase when someone wants to avoid accountability but gain all the rewards of seemingly being empathetic!
@LeArielleSimone I need this printed and framed. Just because it wasn’t intentional doesn’t mean it wasn’t hurtful nor does it make you free of fault. It’s emotional negligence. Once is ignorance. Two is denial. Three, your intention was to do/say what you want, intentionally disregarding me
@LeArielleSimone like…i am aware that wasn’t your intention why do you think i am talking to you about it😭
@LeArielleSimone Harm without intent still leaves a scar. Caring means thinking ahead, not just apologizing after. #AccountabilityMatters 🧠
@LeArielleSimone That’s why it’s said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Folks don’t always think about their actions & those consequences fully before making choices.
@LeArielleSimone good intentions paved the road to hell because its short sighted - intentions are not the full picture - seeing how your actions will ripple out through time, that's heaven.
@LeArielleSimone impact matters more than intention if you never considered the harm you were never truly careful
