Lately I've noticed that when I say "I haven't had time" what I really mean is: I haven't had the mental bandwidth/emotional capacity/executive functioning/right sensory environment/a way to easily clear my mind. But it's harder to feel okay saying those other things to people.

I wonder how much rejection sensitivity is connected with autism because we spend a lot of our lives being fucking rejected. Who wouldn't be sensitive to a repeat traumatic experience?

Society tends to assume that autistic people desperately want to live like NT people, but are simply failing at it. The truth is, most autistic people have different needs, wants and desires, which a NT lifestyle would not support. They only emulate NT people out of necessity.
