The Liberal Democrats will keep pushing to scrap the two-child benefit cap that keeps families in poverty. Because every child deserves a fair chance to fulfil their potential.
@LibDems This would be just fine for Mohamed and his polygamous marriages.
@LibDems This cap can be lifted straight away, in the time it takes to amend the system. Payments can be back-dated to Aug 1sr 2024. It should be treated as an investment in the future of the nation's children. There are several changes to future taxatiion to cancel the money to pay it.
@LibDems Fair point as concerns current families. However I’ve never understood why, moving forwards and with suitable notice, 3 only could be supported - whilst those with 4 or more (excepting multiple birth situations) should actually pay for the privilege.
@LibDems Not having kids is a lifestyle choice, having kids also, having more kids than reasonable is very definitely a lifestyle choice .. why should anyone else pay for others lifestyle choice? .. society needs kids and 2 per family seems reasonable, more than that we shouldn't pay for.
@LibDems @lordbonkers The selfish gits that say they won’t pay for others peoples children. Who is their teacher, doctor, dentist, bin man, train driver. Who will wipe their bum when they get older? Other peoples children.
@LibDems Two parents working 37 hrs a week on minimum wage + current tax credits = £3,847 a month + 30 hours free childcare/school. That's not poverty.
@LibDems Barry George Jordan you are a horrific man, Caroline needs to learn to economise, you are supposed to be a conservative now, are any of you Jordans able to be honest anymore?
@LibDems If you have more than two, or combine to form a new household that took majority custody leaving you short, that was a choice above what the state fund, the cap protects the future for all.
@LibDems @SarahDykeLD How can you be trusted when you mislead people with post ?
@LibDems Is that the very same cap YOUR party introduced under the @nickclegg AND @David_Cameron coalition? Pleae tell me it's not...
@LibDems You’re irrelevant, Labour has 400+ seats. Why not get Ed to campaign for more theme parks?
@LibDems @RachelBentleyNB Lib Dems are to the left of Labour. Crazy times.
@LibDems Remember supporting the tories helping out families into poverty in the first place?
@LibDems She looks like she'd build a dam if you left her near a river.
