Simply warehousing these kids in a antisocial and abusive environment, which is the reality of youth detention results in more offending

This is why Australians have little respect for political leaders. Rockliff presides over an abuse factory at Ashley detention centre, which houses girls as young as 10, and it continues destroying lives under him to this day. And he has the nerve to send out a tweet like this.
As leaders, it’s on every single one of us to put politics aside, come together and act decisively to end violence against Australian women. That change is all of our responsibility and I look forward to joining National Cabinet on Wednesday to play my part.

@Lyshrose For greedy right wing politicians think of the cost to society this does financially...not just in payouts in 40 years...in jails, hospital and victim payouts...mental health and addiction treatments...these kids grow up and cost billions...if you can't have empathy think costs
