There’s a 15-year-old girl with no preexisting medical issues in our ICU right now intubated in a medically-induced coma fighting for her life. Her parents are praying for her recovery. We all are. Her parents wish they had taken COVID seriously and had her vaccinated. We all do.

In 7 years in the legislature, last night was as disheartened as I’ve ever felt. The Senate Appropriations Committee, on which I sit, refused to fund Medicaid expansion—enshrined by voters into the MO Constitution. People deserve better than having their will ignored by electeds.

Came across one of our AVs nudging over for a cyclist approaching rapidly from behind. Possibly something a human would miss. But - we did NOT program this behavior! The AVs discovered on their own that this improves safety. What other tricks will they learn?
