The first thing visitors will see when entering the new Faces of Canada Today exhibition will be 3,000 poppies suspended in the middle of the room. These include several beaded, sealskin, and birchbark and quill poppies from three Indigenous artists ➡️ bit.ly/472PDlv

On National Indigenous Veterans Day I am remembering Huron Eldon Brant. A Kanien’kehá:ka’ soldier from The Hastings and P.E.R who was awarded the Military Medal by General Montgomery personally for his bravery at Grammichele on July 14/15, 1943. #CanadaRemembers

Came across this MBE recommendation letter for Canadian Nursing Sister, Margaret McCann for her actions on 1944/12/16 in Russi, Italy. Even after being narrowly killed by an attack on her field hospital, she continued to work effortlessly to treat the wounded. #CanadaRemembers

I think Alex Colville has to be one of my favourite Canadian artists. His work always gives off an eerie sense of calm to me. Recognized this painting to be in Wolfville, N.S. A wonderful place to visit.

Polishing old colour photos so that they look modern does have its drawbacks! One of these wartime photos is not like the others: 80 years separate them. They were taken in 1941, 1944 & in 2023, but in which order? It can sometimes be a challenge to spot an interloping impostor!
