For the old folks at #AAS244, the map is wrong when it says the Wisconsin room is the 40+E lounge. The actual 40+E lounge is the Dane room. And it's nicer anyway.

I'm at #AAS244 and will give a talk on Tuesday, 219.02, about the coldest known brown dwarf, W0855-0714. This "star" is cooler than room temperature. With 23 epochs from WISE & NEOWISE the W1 flux can be estimated giving a W1-W2 color of ~5.6! 🔭

ISS just raised its orbit 1 km to avoid space debris, so it is now only ~3 weeks to the time ISS and WISE are at the same elevation. WISE is dropping ~5 km/month due to atmospheric drag.

Northern summer solstice! For once no June gloom, so I got to see the ISS pass by Saturn at 5:13 PDT. And @WISE_Mission finished the 19th sky coverage in its NEOWISE reactivation 5 days ago. Add 2 coverages in 2010-11 = 21 times around the sky. I'll drink to that!

In DC for the SSB meeting. Wanted to ride the Silver Line from Dulles to DC but it got shut down for weeks of track work 3 days before I arrived. Now the ride is back to the bad old 5A bus days. Long delays in traffic.

Now that the Public Health Emergency is over (5/11) I will retire the Journal of the Plague Year. But I also got my 2nd bivalent booster shot (6th overall) on 5/12.
