Dr. Matt Karafin presenting our work “Utilization of Therapeutic Plasma Exchange for Patients With Myasthenia Gravis in the Setting of New Targeted Medications.” @UNCPathology
I'd be very interested in getting access to the fundamental content of this presentation somehow; I'm a patient of the neuromuscular clinic at the University of Chicago with seronegative generalized MG. Currently taking Imuran and Mestinon ER 180 BID and 60 mg PRN with TPE done on an as-needed basis (usually with mild exacerbations outpatient or with severe exacerbations/crises inpatient) through a double lumen vortex port. I have Hughes' Syndrome that complicates TPE and a history of Covid-related PE, so we do two hours of TpA each session and also lock the port with Heparin monthly. Currently vacillate between MGFA III and IV at most exams even with this level of treatment. Have tried and failed Tacrolimus and IvIG.
