The current war between Israel and Hamas started on October 7 2023. What happened on October 7 2023? Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and hundreds of other Gazans invaded Israel and slaughtered over 1200 people. Instead of forcing Hamas to release the hostages and end the war you decided to reward them by recognizing Palestine as a state. @MarkJCarney One point that needs to be clarified is the call to demilitarize Palestine, in order to do that Canada and other states must commit to protect the Palestinian population through military force from Israeli attacks. That's the trade off. Is Canada willing to do this?
